IT Manager


We are looking for an IT manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of

our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. You

will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs.

The successful candidate will have improved skills, a proven professional experience and a

detailed knowledge of industry’s best practice processes.

Key responsibilities

 Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations;

planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining

employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

 Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a

safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

 Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and

supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.

 Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and

user projects.

 Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and

data centre.

 Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.

 Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and

information security and control structures.

 Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating

organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating


 Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual

budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective action.

 Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

 Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;

reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking

state-of- the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


 Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience

 Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer

hardware/software systems

 Expertise in data centre management and data governance

 Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network


 Understanding of complex information and requirements

 Good prioritisation skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans

 An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints

 Great IT skills combined with a good head for business

 Good evaluation skills

 Good communications skills - written and verbal

 Excellent organisational skills

 Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

 Confidence in decision-making

 A good team-playing mentality

 Good leadership skills
